My core is $VOO , about 500 of the biggest US companies. Hard to argue with that, and I am not selling it. But $VXUS holds about 8,800 stocks from 40+ countries outside the US. That is a whole different kind of diversification. US only keeps it simple. Going global spreads the bet. Long term buy & hold for me either way. Home team or world tour, $VOO only or $VOO plus $VXUS? Where do you stand?

I’d mostly go with VOO. you can’t really go wrong with the S&P 500. I have both ETFs so both complement each other really well for building a diversified large cap foundation. Even if VXUS has so many stocks it primarily operates as a large cap in terms of weightings or capitalization.
