AI stocks are selling off after some of the biggest names in the industry called for slowing down AI development because of safety concerns. $AMD and other semiconductor stocks are taking a hit because the market is immediately asking the obvious question if AI development slows, does all that planned spending on chips and data centers slow too? I don’t think one headline changes the long-term AI infrastructure story, but this is a risk worth paying attention to. AI has driven a huge amount of market growth. Anything that changes the pace of AI spending matters.
