Good reminder that Borrowing to invest is risky and not for short-term timeline. In short term, things can change quickly! To depict it, see example from my last video update end of August: https://youtu.be/wYpIrbwtJ5k Versus today's value shown in the image. 😬 So far I have borrowed $37,000 to invest in $XEQT using a Wealthsimple Portfolio Line of Credit (PLOC). Over the past 1.5 months, the interest accrued/paid is $158.22. ⚠️

Thanks for your transparency @moementumfinance . I understand that you have a long term goal, however why don't you try to time the market with your Borrow to invest portfolio? I mean XEQT is a strong pick and you will be Ok for the long term, but this is not your registered account so you have more time flexibility to select the moment you borrow to buy XEQT. Yes none can predict the future but in any market there are up and downs, I believe borrowing to buy when the market is down could no hurt for this kind of portfolio

I appreciate that you always speak to both sides of the story (good & bad) Moe. It’s a responsible and fair dissemination of your financial journey. Thanks for the transparency.

No such thing as “free money”. Borrowing comes at a cost but utilized properly can be beneficial.
