Be honest. If ETFs almost guarantee you market returns… and most stock pickers underperform… Why do people still pick stocks? Is it about performance — or ego? If you had to commit to ONE strategy for the next 7 years: -100% broad market ETF or -5 high-conviction stocks No switching. No hedging. Which are you choosing — and why?

Saying "ETFs almost guarantee you market returns" is a misnomer... Why? Two primary reason.... 1. Over 1/2 of ETFs are actively managed and 92-92% of actively managed managed funds underperformed the broad market over the past 20 years... 2. Most passively managed funds don't even track the broad market, instead focusing on specific industries, geographic regions or themes. No "guarantees" those deliver market returns. Far too many equate ETFs to being the 'safer' way to invest which "guarantee" market returns, but that couldn't be farther from the truth in most instances.

I’m 90% ETFs right now. I wouldn’t consider any of them broad market. I’m 10% stocks. The reasons why I like what I’m doing is… 1. It’s fun. 2. I have the time. 3. I can afford it.

I wouldn't even consider ETFs personally I'm willing to work and research and enjoy. But for my mom I have sector specific ETF's.There is also a caveat by saying "most" stock pickers....most anything is pretty awful I work in construction "most" people can't even hang up their coat
