As a coach and an investor myself, I have experienced and seen most investors go through these same 4 stages: 1️⃣ The Complete Beginner You’re brand new. You know nothing. You’re very risk-averse. So, you decide to pick a simple strategy like index funds. You start with $0 and start investing $50-$100 per month. 2️⃣ The Intermediate Investor This is the stage where you start to get impatient. Your $100/mo contributions into boring index funds haven’t turned into $1M yet. You’re also “smarter” now. You’re more aware of the different investing strategies. You start to dabble into options trading, individual stocks, crypto, etc. 3️⃣ The “Wtf am I doing” Stage After toying with multiple different strategies, you look at your overall portfolio and see: • 46 individual stocks • 7 ETFs that all overlap each other • A bunch of 💩 coins And you think to yourself “Wtf am I even invested in? This is so complicated now.” And in most cases, you realize that your returns would have been the same or better if you had just held 1-2 index funds throughout the entire time. 4️⃣ Back to Basics You sell all of the crap. You revert back to index funds. You’re more mature in your personal finances. You value simplicity over complexity. You live happily ever after.

The return on my wife and kids accounts (ETFs only $HXQ and $HXS) is so much better than mine with stocks. It's also stress-free since I never look at them.
