I just maxed out my FHSA!!! This is huge for me because I'll be honest, I didn’t even want to open one nor did I want to contirbute to it lol.. However , I kept thinking about the benefits of having an FHSA and realized that if I didn’t open one now, I’d just be leaving contribution room on the table. Unlike a TFSA, you don’t start accumulating FHSA contribution room until you actually open the account. So I figured, why not open it now. I also thought about the potential tax returns next year. 2026 has been a pretty unusual financial year for me, so I figured I might as well take advantage of the FHSA tax deduction while I can, and have a some nice returns next year. I don't think I will be contributing to it next year though because my TFSA is still my #1 investing priority. maybe if I'm fortunate enough to max out my tsfa next year I can add some funds to my fhsa because buying a home is a more immediate goal for me than retirement. my FHSA is 100% invested in $XEQT (simple as it gets) this is surreal and I can't emphasize it enough, I was so reluctant to open one let alone contribute to it. I'm so grateful that I was able to max out my fhsa, and surpas two of my 2026 TSFA goals. I have to thank my family, my friends, the blossom community and ME of course... seriously I've been so motivated, inspired and supported by everyone to be able to this! Did you open an FHSA? How are you prioritizing it alongside your TFSA and RRSP?

Congratulations!! 🔥 I also prioritize my TFSA above anything. My hierarchy rn is TFSA > FHSA > non-reg > RRSP
