On July 13, 2023, I started this portfolio with a simple long term goal: Double my money every 5 years. Today, just over 3 years later, the portfolio officially crossed +100%, reaching +100.36% since inception. For comparison, the S&P 500 (SPY) returned +75.22% over the same period. My original goal was to reach 100% by July 2028. I managed to get there roughly 1 year and 11 months ahead of schedule. I’m proud of the milestone, but I also know markets don’t move in straight lines. There have already been some significant swings along the way, and there will be plenty more. Never thought I could invest and save altogether! Glad that I started this habit and Blossom being one of it to push me harder and give me the reality check! Not an excuse but I’m fan of eating outside and most of my expenses are there, yet I was able to save some! Just happy about it and happy to reach this new milestone! And I’m getting ready now to go BBQ with friends which I will never regret on this spending 😆 💸
2.5 years ago I had $500 in my bank account and had to sell my car to renovate my parents house in India. Worked 2 jobs, saved every penny i could, and just hit $100k. 70% of it came in just the last year. first milestone done. more coming 💪**
Our RESP hit two big milestones recently! 👉🏼 $50k Invested 👉🏼 100% Total Return 3 years ago, I almost didn’t move our RESP to self-directed because I was so worried I’d mess it up. But then I realized there’s nobody in the world who cares more about this account than I do. Especially not the mutual fund managers who lost us money for the first 3 years of our RESP being open. I got my husband on board and I gave myself 3 years to see what I could do. Well there’s no turning back! Only regret is wishing I broke the mutual fund sooner. All I want is for my girls (6 yrs & 20 months) to have the opportunities that I never had. To never have them cry over their college acceptance letters, because they couldn’t afford to go. Market movements these days are insane. I have been actively involved in markets for past 5 years and passively for many years prior to that. The violent way in which markets bounce back in the past 2 years of the bull market, have never seen these moves !! Not that am complaining as my portfolio reached a new ATH and has bounced back 8% since June 10th lows. Big moves in $COHR$TER$GLW$DELL$LRCX$MU helped !! Congrats to everyone who reached a new ATH !! February 2nd 2026 i hit a goal of mine, 50k invested at 20. I was super stoked when i hit it. But to now see how far it’s come sense it’s just crazy to see, i was hoping to hit 100k before i turn 22, but now it might be doable before the end of the year!!🙌🏼 But just wanted to share my progress and let anyone just starting out know it is more then possible. When you just keep putting dollar after dollar in and let it work for you as well, it comes a lot faster then you think.
Good morning and a very happy Thursday sweet souls ☕️☀️ I reached a milestone for myself this morning, in completing my first 5k morning walk. It may not seem all that significant to most, but that is the target I set myself two months ago, which began with 3k daily and gradually moved to 4k. I’m planning on repeating this tomorrow, and then each weekday moving forward. I hope that each and every one of you are able to reach your goals, whether that be personal or professional. Sometimes the end goal can seem so far out of reach, so it helps to set smaller goals that lead to our final objective .. Another milestone today: $1.2M in investable assets, excluding home equity. Still hard to believe we’re up $200K since January😳 (inclusive of tax refunds, contributions and returns). There’s no trick to it. Just consistent investing and a long time horizon doing what they’re supposed to do. If I could pass along one thing: build around your own goals instead of copying what everyone else is doing. What works for someone else’s timeline, income, and risk tolerance may not work for yours. What’s the one piece of financial advice you’d give?
