Let’s have some fun discussion! What’s the biggest mistake you’ve made during your investment journey? I’ll start first, I wish I’d started at 18 or even earlier ( I started at age 22). It would’ve given my money more time to compound and trust me, that makes a massive difference in the long run. Our education system really needs to teach kids about investing and smart money management. It would lead to a far less debted society than we have today. $VFV$VOO$XEQT$VEQT$XIU$XSP$MSTE$MSTR$QQQM$QQQ$ZEQT$ZEB

Here are my lessons from starting in the last 3 months: 1) I wish I’d started at 18 as well since I’m starting now at 25. Finances weren’t even a thought in my mind when they could have been. 2) yield max…..never again 3) balance with some risk=slow and steady winds the race 4) red days aren’t that scary, think if things as being on sale for a bit and keep investing.

Trusting finacial advisors in scotia and TD bank and thinking that they really want to help me. Never again. Wasted about 5 years and considerable capital in bank GIC's and their shitty mutual funds.

1. Prioritized yield over capital appreciation, even though I still had more than 30 years until retirement. 2. Picked individual stocks without doing proper research. In hindsight, beginners are usually better off starting with ETFs unless they know how to evaluate companies effectively.

Starting earlier honestly. Maxing out my TFSA each year from 2008. I didn't know anything about finances.
