If you had $100,000 to invest for the next 20 years, would you rather: A) Build a dividend portfolio and collect income along the way B) Focus on growth stocks and worry about income later I personally lean more toward growth while I’m younger, but I can definitely see the appeal of building a portfolio that eventually pays you every month. Funny you should post this I have a year left to retire I have one fund with a half a mil in it . I just started a monthly paying dividend fund hoping to get it to $100g and have that paying me monthly so I can buy some ground beef and maybe a rib eye once in awhile 😉😉
A income all the way. Nothing wrong with growth investors. But the sooner my income portfolio covers my bills. The sooner I don’t need a job and then therefore carry on the rest of my life helping others. Now income + a little growth is the sweet spot for me.
