Yesterday was a perfect example of why I believe doing your own research is so important as a long-term investor. Imagine owning a stock that suddenly drops 17%. If you don't truly understand the company, your mind immediately starts racing. What happened? Did something fundamentally change? Does someone know something I don't? Should I sell? That's a stressful position to be in. But when you've spent countless hours reading financial reports, listening to earnings calls, understanding the business, and building your own financial projections, you see these moments very differently. I've done that work with AMD. I understand what I own, why I own it, and what I believe the business can become over the next 5–10 years. That doesn't mean I'm guaranteed to be right. And it certainly doesn't mean I ignore new information or risks. It means a sharp decline in the share price, by itself, doesn't change my investment thesis. There's a big difference between having confidence in a stock because it's going up and having confidence because you understand the underlying business. I don't need the market to agree with me every single day. I need the company to continue executing on the fundamentals that support my long-term projections. Price volatility doesn't scare me. A deterioration in the underlying business would. $AMD #Investing #LongTermInvesting
