Investing like life requires courage and conviction. We all have terrible days. Markets are red this week because when it rains...it pours. For Halloween, my son wanted to dress up as Micheal Jackson from the Thriller music video. I challenged myself to make my Halloween costume (a zombie back up dancer) without spending any money whatsoever. I had plaster bandages lying around because of my previous job in healthcare. I used it to make a 'terrifying' zombie mask. Although my husband joked it was an improvement 😅. Just my luck a FedEx delivery came to my home during the 20 minutes that the plaster bandages needed to set. I couldn't even open my mouth when I answered the door. I scared the poor delivery man! I tried my best to create some childhood memories for my son, but he HATES trick or treating and was miserable the whole time. To quote him: 'Mama knocking on people's houses and expecting to take something home is ROBBERY'. Parenting is one of those roles where you always feel like you're failing, but you just got to laugh and keep going. I also had a stressful day at work and I ended up yelling at my boss in frustration (and getting written up for it). Everything is good now, but I figured I'd share because I want to make it clear that despite online appearances, NO ONE HAS THEIR SHIT TOGETHER! Never compare your investment/career/personal life journey with people's online 'highlight' reel. We are all fumbling and just trying to do our best. I am proud of y'all for showing up and staying invested. The only one amongst us who has never bought high and sold low at some point....is the person who's never invested! Cheers to spooked market blood baths and whatever life throws at us. We will all get through it together. ❤️ Let me know how you like our costumes! PSA if you make a plaster mask, remember that you MUST put Vaseline all over your face first!

This made me smile and honestly, your son’s definition of trick-or-treating as robbery is hilarious 😂 Parenting, investing and life rarely go as planned, and that’s a good reminder that we’re all just figuring things out as we go. Love the creativity behind the costumes, especially making them without spending a dime! And thank you for the reminder that nobody has it all figured out. ❤️

That 3rd pic would have scared me too .. lol poor delivery guy! And your kids right there whole Halloween tradition is weird to me. We teach our kids not to talk to strangers or accept candy from them yet once a year we dress them up to knock on strangers door to get candy? It’s a scary tradition… I never liked it But looks like you still had fun together which is what life’s all about 💝
